Why I Stopped Fixing And Started Listenin - A journey into soul-led pet care

For most of my life, I believed my role was to fix.
Fix behaviours.
Fix problems.
Fix animals.

As a dog behaviourist, people came to me with frustration, concern, and urgency. Their pets were barking too much, chewing everything, reacting on walks, or refusing to settle. I wore the invisible badge of 'the fixer.' And for a long time, it gave me a sense of purpose.

But beneath the surface, something didn’t feel right.

I was following protocols and applying techniques that often worked, but something was missing — a deeper connection, a mutual understanding, a softness that couldn't be explained by science alone.

Where It All Began

I’ve been around animals my entire life. I grew up riding horses from being a very young child , where I first felt the intuitive pull of animal communication. It wasn’t something I was taught — it was something I remembered. That quiet knowing between two beings without a single word spoken.

Later, I spent over 10 years working in animal rescue. I saw animals who had been abandoned, abused, misunderstood — and I tried so hard to help them by doing, solving, fixing. But what they needed most… was someone to listen.

The Shift: From Control to Compassion

The shift began when I stopped viewing behaviours as problems and started seeing them as messages. This only happened when i pulled away for canine behaviour and started sitting with myself.

When I stopped leading with correction and began leading with compassion and energy awareness.

I started to notice when a dog was pleading to be heard rather than trained. When a cat was acting out from unacknowledged grief. When animals were holding on to their guardian’s emotional stress like a sponge.

And I realised: I wasn’t here to fix them. I was here to witness them. To hold space. To ask, “What do you need me to understand?”

Soul-Led Animal Communication

Learning intuitive animal communication didn’t come from textbooks. It came from stillness, presence, and trust.

Now, when an animal comes to me, I don’t start with correction. I start with curiosity.

What are you trying to tell me? What emotions are you carrying? What wisdom do you want to share?

This is the foundation of soul-led pet care — working with the energy and emotions behind behaviour, not just the surface-level symptoms.

Healing Doesn’t Always Mean Fixing

Sometimes healing comes through allowing. Through validating. Through energetically saying, “I see you. I hear you. I’m with you.”

This doesn’t ignore dog behaviour support — it roots it in holistic pet care, emotional safety, and energetic respect.

And when animals feel truly heard, something incredible happens. They soften. They relax. They begin their own healing journey.

Listening Beyond Words

This philosophy now guides everything I do — from the natural pet wellness bundles I create, to my sessions supporting rescue dogs, to the quiet, soul-level connection I share with animals daily.

Listening — real, intuitive listening — is powerful. It bridges worlds. It transforms relationships. It reminds us that animals aren’t broken. They’re expressive, wise, and emotional beings with stories to tell.

And the most loving thing we can do is listen.
