About Us
In the summer of 2014, I and my husband formed our relationship from the ashes of two divorces.
Both not knowing what life was going to bring we put everything we had into us.
In the spring of 2015, we made a huge leap of faith and walked away from two full-time jobs to start our very own business walking dogs that just didn't fit anywhere else!
With a degree in dog behavior, we took the unmanagable to manageable.
I had worked with animals all my life. In my younger years, I was a horse enthusiast and made waves in the horse world. I then went on to college to study animal behavior and animal science. Whilst in college I started volunteering for a local rescue which drove my passion for naughty dogs!! Since this, I have never bought another pet! I have rescued every animal I own and will continue to do so!
After 6 years of our business Canine understanding, living through covid and deciding on a complete lifestyle change of de-registering, the children from school we needed a business that would enable us to home educate and provide for the kids,
so The Valley Pet Shop business plan was set in motion.
For years I had been extremely disheartened by the lack of help and guidance that was shown in pet stores.
This is where the spark was lit years ago in my head.
I had already seen premises that had caught my eye and been on the market a while but due to its ugly duckling appearance, no one had taken on the mammoth task of re-birthing the place, until I had my vision.
It took months of blood sweat and tears, and all our savings but we did it!
Yet again we had made a leap of faith and plowed everything we had into
The Valley Pet Shop.
We are now over 2 years old and it has been a crazy journey of ups and downs, but we have made it and I for one am extremely proud of my team, especially my husband for putting up with my crazy, and resilient attitude.
The crazy animal mad side I won't apologize for haha!!
